Santiago Texacuangos, El Salvador
Jucuapa was the ideal location for the David V. King Medical Center because it created a medical facility in an under-served area. But all across El Salvador, there are existing facilities that cannot adequately serve their patients. Hospital de Maternidad la Divina Providencia was one of those, and it came to our attention in 2004.
This project involved rebuilding, remodeling, and expanding the existing hospital space to include a modern surgical wing with specialized ophthalmic and surgical equipment.
Additionally, we expanded and modernized the existing housing for visiting medical missions. The hospital can now accommodate 12 medical missions a year and provide modern medical equipment for their use.
